The GetGlowing Micro-Peel is a treatment in which a cream is applied to the skin to encourage the exfoliation of dead skin cells and debris while stimulating the skin’s natural renewal process. This peel is designed to refine skin texture and skin conditions such as acne. The procedure assists in smoothing fine lines and evening out skin discolouration. It improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of acne scars and environmental damage to the skin.

How many treatments will I need?

With each additional Micro-Peel procedure, you will notice incremental improvements in the overall appearance of the skin. For maximum results, we recommend a series of six GetGlowing Micro-Peel procedures in two to six week intervals, depending on the skin type.

Is there any downtime after the treatment?

For approximately one week following the procedure, the skin will undergo a renewal process, lightly shedding its dead outer layer. Depending on the skin, clients may or may not experience peeling. If peeling occurs, it usually begins four to five days following the treatment and lasts for approximately three days. In addition, clients may experience mild itching, dryness and redness.

Important note:

It's very important to wear sunscreen every day after the Peel, as your skin may be more sensitive to the sun. Be certain you have adequate sunscreen protection against UVA and UVB rays.

The Process:

- Schedule your consult.

- During consult, you will pay for treatments and schedule your appointments (see below).

- 1st Appointment (Day 1) – 2.5 hrs Peel application

- 2nd Appointment (Day 2) – 2.5 hrs Peel application

- 3rd Appointment (Day 7-10) – 1 hr In salon removal of any remaining dead skin

- You will only use a special soothing cream which will be supplied by us as well as a sunblock for the remainder of the week.

How will I look during the peel process?

Day 1: Immediately after the first application, the skin is red but not unsightly.

Day 2: Second peel is applied

Day 3: The skin takes on a brownish tinge. It looks like a skier who has forgotten to protect themselves from the sun and ended up with a severe sunburn. The difference, of course, is that while the sunburn destroys the skin, the peeling restores it.

Day 4: The skin’s brownish colour darkens to its maximum intensity on the fourth day and the skin may begin to peel.

Day 5 – 6: The skin begins to peel. Allow this to happen naturally and do not interfere with the peeling process.

Day 7 – 10: The remaining skin is removed by your therapist in a sterile environment. The peeling is safe and controlled and the skin is never raw. After, there is a brand new, glowing, smooth, fine textured skin complexion underneath resembling youthful skin.

Does it hurt?

This peel only tingles for about the first 10 minutes, then the feeling completely goes away, and you will likely fall asleep during the procedure. Pain is only about a 3 out of 10, nothing that is going to make you feel too uncomfortable.

How long does it take?

This peel is unique, it requires two days of treatment and 1 day for dead skin removal. The 1st day the peel is left on for 2 hours, the 2nd day we repeat. You return 7-10 days later to remove the remaining dead skin. You will be in the clinic for about 6 hours in total, and then a follow up appointment for after photos a few weeks later.

What happens to my skin after the procedure?

For approximately one week following the procedure, the skin will shed. The peeling begins on day 4-6 and continues for 3-4 more days. Downtime is different for every person, but the skin can take anywhere from 5-10 days to completely peel off.

How many treatments will I need?

Amazing results are seen after just one peel. If you have deeper pigmentation or very deep acne scars you may want to do two peels in a row (with 6-8 weeks between them). We recommend that clients get a yearly peel to keep improving the skin. As with any treatment, individual results may vary.

Please note: This treatment requires a minimum of 2.5 hours for 2 consecutive days of application. It cannot be done otherwise.
